much need for high tech tools which made the task of recovering
furniture easier and faster. Upholstery in early times was simply
furniture that was covered with animal hide or fabric and stuffed
with animal feathers or wool. Simple tacks were used to hold the
fabric in place and could be removed with little effort on the part
of the upholsterer.
Today's furniture is much more complex, uses many different types
of fasteners, and requires the use of specialized tools to speed
up the process and make it easier on the tradesman. Additionally
the amount of items that can be upholstered has also grown thus
making the job of upholstering even harder to do without these specialized
tools.
